Our Story

A Divine Connection — How Little Forest Became Part of Moeggesukkel

Sometimes, things happen in such a perfect, undeniable way that you just know: God is in the details.

One ordinary Saturday, Jacques Papenfus, founder of Moeggesukkel, stood chatting with Jaco Johnson. Jaco asked a simple but sincere question:

“What can I do to help and make a real difference?”

Jacques didn't hesitate:

“We need housing.”

That's when Jaco mentioned a beautiful, unique property near Bronkhorstpruit that he knew about — a special place with heart and potential.

What they didn't know at the time was that, on that very same Saturday — in the same hour — Jaco's brother-in-law, Jan Loots, was sitting with his brother next to the dam at Little Forest. Jan turned to his brother and, completely unaware of Jacques's earlier conversation, said:

“Have you seen the videos of Moeggesukkel? My heart’s desire is to see something like that happen right here on this property.”

Then came Monday morning. Jaco called Jan and said:

“The founder of Moeggesukkel wants to speak with you about the property.”

Jan couldn’t believe it. He immediately recognised this moment as God’s confirmation. Soon after that, Jacques and Jan shook hands, and the agreement was sealed. A dream had found its home. Little Forest Lodge was now part of Moeggesukkel’s mission.
